# Set up your 5G2GO Network

After reading this guide you will be able to set up your 5G2GO system and connect your devices to the private 5G network.

## What’s included  in the 5G2GO System?

* 5G2GO Flypack
  * 5G Mobile Core: Contains all compute and software required to operate and monitor your network.
  * Mikrotik CRS305 10Gbps Switch/Route
* 5G AP:
  * Indoor (inc Super Mafer Clamp + Pin for flexible mounting)
    * POE+ Injector
  * Outdoor (mounting planned in advance with Waveriders)
    * POE++ Injector
* Powercon Cable
* Ethernet Cables
  * Fiber interfaces can be supported on 5G2GO Flypack and APs, ask a member of the team for details.

## What do I need to provide?

* Internet connection with DHCP enabled. The Mikrotik will automatically acquire an address.
* 120v Power Outlet (5G2GO total system consumption is 200 watts max, typical 100 watts)

Because the 5G2GO AP needs to authorize with FCC before broadcasting, an internet connection is required to enable the AP to register and receive spectrum allocation from FCC.

## How is the network Configured?

* WAN: DHCP Client (Firewall/NAT)
* LAN: 10.48.96/21
* 5G Devices: 10.48.98.0/24 (reachable from LAN via Layer 3, no NAT)
* Devices
  * Mikrotik CRS305: use Winbox or access Web UI via http://10.48.96.1
  * Proxmox Virtualization: <https://10.48.96.10:8006>
  * Attocore Mobile Core: <https://10.48.96.5:8889>
  * Speak to one of the team to confirm your username/passwords.

Network configuration can be customized to integrate with your existing network infrastructure.

## How do I monitor and manage 5G2GO?

Connect to the built in SurfControl Dashboard using your web browser and you will be able to monitor system status including;

* 5G Mobile Core
* 5G Access Points
  * Connected APs
  * Spectrum Allocation Service Status
* Connected Devices

Your Surfcontrol Dashboard will be available at http://10.48.x.11:8080. Replacing ‘x’ with the correct subnet of your 5G2GO system.

## How to set up 5G2GO

1. ### Connections

   ![5G2GO Connections](https://outline-production-attachments.s3-accelerate.amazonaws.com/uploads/bcdc8248-9752-47b6-aef9-c30b5d469051/12b83c0c-f941-4181-8dfc-7e279a748101/5G2GO-connections.PNG?X-Amz-Algorithm=AWS4-HMAC-SHA256&X-Amz-Content-Sha256=UNSIGNED-PAYLOAD&X-Amz-Credential=AKIA4EOUDTOVUICLPZ4P%2F20260927%2Fus-east-1%2Fs3%2Faws4_request&X-Amz-Date=20260927T134500Z&X-Amz-Expires=86400&X-Amz-Signature=24d93a97902cabbc302bf1a7d6b30e4d70cff2cdf40cf700d19b95c4eed272a9&X-Amz-SignedHeaders=host&x-amz-checksum-mode=ENABLED&x-id=GetObject "right-50 =400x505")

   1. Power: Use the included powercon lead. Wait until all ethernet cables are connected and Internet access is available before connecting.
   2. Internet: Connect the Internet to the WAN of your 5G2GO unit. Internet interface is color coded **Orange.**
   3. POE Injector or POE Switch, connect to one of the LAN ports (color coded **Green**). Connect to **WAN on your 5G AP.**
   4. Connect your laptop via ethernet to the 5G2GO Core or tether using a connected device.

With your ethernet connections complete, attach the powercon connector to 5G2GO and it will power up automatically.

To confirm status of the 5G2GO system, browse to your SurfControl Dashboard. If your system is addressed as per the diagram above your SurfControl Dashboard is available at http://10.48.96.20:8080.

### How long before the system is ready to connect devices?

If you’re using an outdoor AP, your network will be ready in approximately five minutes from power up.

The same applies to Baicells, Moso Networks and Ataya Indoor APs.

For BTI Indoor APs you will need to connect to [Surfcontrol](http://10.48.96.20:8080/gnodeb) and check status.

Diagram - Unconfigured BTI AP

With a freshly booted BTI AP you will need to;

1. Sync Time: In order to communicate with FCC Spectrum Access Servers the BTI AP must have correct time. This will need to be set from SurfControl gNodeB Management page any time the AP has been powered down.
2. Restart CBRS: Once you receive the Sync time success message, click to restart the CBRS Registration process. This will complete within approx 60 to 90 seconds.

## How do I connect my devices?

5G2GO networks use CBRS N48 5G Standalone technology. Your device must support this band and 5GSA technology.

Insert one of the provided physical SIMs or download one of your assigned eSIMs to the device (eSIM support Q4 ‘25) and power up.

### Certified Devices

The following devices have been tested extensively by Waveriders and used in the field for live operations.

* Haivision Pro Series 5G Encoders, Pro460, Falkon.
* Teradek Prism 5G, Node 5G
* Sony PDT-FP1
* iOS Devices: iPhone and iPad (special SIM settings required, talk to one of the team)
* Samsung S series smartphones
* Peplink Routers
* Cradlepoint Routers

### Tested but not yet certified

LiveU Encoders

Google Pixel Smartphones

### APN Settings

Some devices may require manual addition of APN settings.

APN: internet

Authentication: None

Protocol: IPV4 only

### SpeedTest

We have local web based and iPerf testing servers which you can use to verify Uplink / Downlink / Latency / Jitter performance of your devices.

The iPerf test server is available on standard iPerf port 5201 at the same IP address as your SurControl dashboard.

Open SpeedTest is a web based test server, very similar to Speedtest.net, nPerf etc but operates directly on our local core. To use the OpenSpeedTest server open a web browser on your device and connect to SurfControl dashboard IP address to access the test. Example <http://10.48.96.20>
