SurfScan: Cellular Network Scanner
How to get scanning in 60 seconds or less.
Open Scanner Page
To view the current status of your SurfScan open the main scanner page https://<surfscan-ip>.
If you are accessing SurfScan via the built in Wi-Fi Hotspot that will be https://172.16.48.1

Connecting to SurfScan Wi-Fi: From your laptop or tablet connect to “surfscan-<unique id>”. Password : surfscango!
Set Location
If your SurfScan has a GPS lock the lat/long co-ordinates will be populated automatically. Othwerwise, click ‘Use My Location’ to update from your mobile device, tablet or laptop.

Set Scan Duration
Next, set your preferred ‘Scan Duration’ from the dropdown. We recommend 3 to 5 minutes scan duration to capture all networks in the area, newly detected networks are added to results as the scan session progresses.

Add Notes
Each scan session is uniquely identified and recorded in the SurfScan database. Adding a human-readable note will help with scan selection when viewing reports. The example below uses the format ‘Scan Location - Project’.

Start Scan!
When you are happy with your scan settings click ‘Start Scan’, and the page will update to show live status during the scan operation.

Real Time Results
As results of the scan are received the Scanner page will update with a count of LTE and 5G networks detected. Click to expand and view a summary of detected operators and bands.

You do not need to wait on the Scanner page. The scan will proceed automatically, you can view reports on other scan sessions while you wait.
Scan Complete!
Once the scan phase is complete the data goes through a brief post scan process to ensure it is immediately available in the Reports section.
